P.S. 214 Extracurricular Activities
P.S. 214 offers a wide variety of Extracurricular Programs both before and after school.
Peer Mediators

Grade 4 & Grade 5 students are trained by our School Counselor and serve as Peer Mediators during lunch and recess.
Basketball Team

Students in Grade 5 try out for the Basketball team in the Fall. Students participate in both Home and Away games. Practices are in the morning before school.
Song Catcher Chorus

Students in Grade 2 can participate in our Chorus for younger students. Rehearsals are in the morning before school. Students perform in both the Winter and Spring Concert.
Band

Students in Grade 5 can audition for our school band. Rehearsals are before school once per week. Students perform in both the Winter and Spring Concert.
ELA & Math Test Prep

Students in Grades 3-5 are invited to a Test Prep program after school.
Cheerleading Squad

Students in Grade 5 try out for the Cheerleading Squad in the Fall. Students attend both home and away games and perform a half time performance. Practices are in the morning before school.
Soccer Team

Students in Grade 5 try out for the Basketball team in the Winter. Students participate in both Home and Away games. Practices are in the morning before school.
Chorus

Students in Grade 4 & 5 can participate in our Chorus for younger students. Students perform in both the Winter and Spring Concert. Rehearsals are during First period once per week.
Casa Dance Program

Students in Grades 1 - 3 can participate in our after school dance program run by artists from Flushing Town Hall. Rehearsals are after school once per week. Students perform in a showcase at Flushing Town Hall at the end of the program.
ENL Support

Students who are learning English as a New Language are invited for additional language instruction.
